I am a retired reading specialist who taught various grade levels from K-6 and in a classroom in Grade 3. I taught in the Erie area for 30 years, in various districts, includiing HarborCreek, North East, and Iroquois, I have found evaluating home schoolers to be a rewarding experience for both myself and the evaluees, as well as the parents. They are excited and eager to show me their year's work, and I am excited to see it and see how entusiastic they are, I feel this is the perfect way for me to spend my energy in retirement, and influence students and parents to explore all the wonderful ways they can use homeschooling to explore whatever it is that interests them.I can also show the students and parents how to do this exploration and still meet the expectations of the curriculum and school district. I will do anything necessary to help homeschoolers and their families to make homeschooling a vibrant and fascinating experience for all. I do not do distance evaluations, as I feel I like to see the students in person and let them have the thrill of showing me their actual work.
