Matthew Bates
Matthew Bates is a certified evaluator for PHAA for students in 7th-12th grade. He has taught high school English at Karns City High School since 1994. He graduated from Grove City College in 1993 with a Bachelor of Music degree with dual certification in Secondary English and Music Education, then received a Master of Arts degree in English from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2002. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been homeschooling their four children since 2002. Matt and his family reside in the Clarion area.
